Thick Loam's bearing and groundedness lay a foundation under Frost Edge's sharpness that won't collapse, so the blade dares to cut because it knows someone catches what falls. What Metal returns to Earth is a clear boundary, drawing a "this far" for that too-accommodating ground.

Feeding view (Earth to Metal) · what they give is nerve and a backstop, letting the other make hard calls. But they endure so well they treat the other's edge as theirs to absorb, so they let Metal take a cut for them too.

Fed view (Metal to Earth) · what they borrow is the other's steadiness, sparing them the isolation of carrying it alone. They don't treat the other's backstop as unlimited credit, and turn their edge to guarding the other sometimes, not only to drawing their own lines.
